Moving Violations (speeding, fail to control speed, etc...): You have the option of requesting Driver's Safety or Deferred Adjudication if you wish to have the charge dismissed. Please refer to the "WAYS TO HANDLE A CITATION" link.

Defective Equipment/Expired DL/Expired Registration:  You have the option of having this charge dismissed for $20.00 with proof of corrections. Proof can be mailed, emailed, or dropped off in person to the court clerk.

No Liability Insurance: You have the option of a dismissal by providing proof of insurance valid at the time you received the citation, showing the covered vehicle. Proof can be mailed, emailed, or dropped off in person to the court clerk. 

ALL CHARGES MUST HAVE A PLEA FORM COMPLETED 

If you wish to contest charges, please submit a Not Guilty Plea in writing to the courts and a hearing will be set up with the Prosecutor and Judge to hear your case. Please refer to the Plea Form link.

Ways to Enter a Plea or Request a Court Date

To obtain a plea form look for Department, Municipal Court and click on Plea Form.  Complete the Plea form and submit one of the following ways:

Payment Arrangements

If you cannot afford to pay in full, you may be eligible for a payment plan, deferred, driver’s safety, or community service along with other options but you must contact the Court at 361-790-2213 ext. 237 to determine eligibility prior to a making a partial payment, or look under Department heading Municipal Court for the forms.

  • Select Municipal Court
  • Citation #, driver’s license # or name
  • Date of birth
  • Click on box and then continue
  • In the payment cart you can change the amount you are paying and then continue
  • If applicable: Select a Plea and then continue
  • If applicable: Agree to Waivers and then continue

  • A copy of the receipt will be emailed to the Court Clerk and the Defendant.  Save a copy for your records.

Send a copy of your citation or note the case/citation number, defendant’s name and phone number with plea and payment to:

Allow up to 7 days for the payment to be applied to the case(s) before the contacting the court.

Drop Box

Payments can be made via cashier’s check or money IN AN ENCLOSED ENVELOPE ADDRESSED TO MUNICIPAL COURT WITH NAME, CITATION NUMBER OR DOCKET NUMBER at the mailbox in the secure drop located @ 212 N. Live Oak St.  Make payable to City of Rockport.  The Court cannot accept CASH.  Please allow 24 hrs. for clerk to process payment
