Rockport Community Pool located at 2001 Stadium Drive. This park is located on 12.27 acres and offers a multi-purpose, heated competition pool and a recreational pool with slides and sprays and is open year-round. The park houses an 8-lane, heated, 25-yard pool and diving area, a whale shaped zero-depth children's pool with slides and sprays and a bathhouse.
Adjacent to the Pool is a picnic area and playground, and two nature trails. The facility is collectively funded by the City of Rockport and Aransas County. It is managed by the City of Rockport. For more information and hours of operation, please call 361-727-9989.
Memorial Park located at 1601 FM 2165 (Pearl St). This park offers an abundant of amenities. It is situated on approximately 92 acres. There is a 1.63-mile asphalt Hike & Bike Trail and a 3/4 mile nature trail that both meander through native Live Oaks. Both offer great exercise and birding opportunities. Views of two freshwater ponds, one with fountains and an observation deck. Interpretive signage throughout as well. There are also five bird observation covered benches. Available are two covered picnic pavilions with BBQ grills and one larger pavilion that is available for renting. Another twenty picnic table sites, most with grills, are available on a first come, first serve basis. Three playgrounds for different age groups are available to include swings. An off-leash Dog Park, four baseball fields, three soccer fields, one open space practice field and a full-size basketball court are positioned within this complex and park. The most recent addition to this park includes a competitive fitness court, a nine-hole disc golf course and a skate park, which was relocated from the Community Pool location. Dog Park. Rockport has almost two acres of land devoted to a fenced, off-leash dog park, which is located at Memorial Park. There are two separate areas, for large and small dogs; water, disposal stations, training props and benches.
Tule Hike and Bike Trail is open from sunrise to sunset and is just over 1 mile (1.08 mi.) starting at the trail head at the north entrance of Walmart (turn right into the parking area in front of the gazebo) and connects via Enterprise Blvd. to the Memorial Park trail system. This 1 mile concrete path is situated through very dense Oak Motts along Tule Creek. This is a great location for bird and wildlife viewing. Access to the Community Pool from this path is available.
Compass Rose Park (formerly know as Triangle Park) located at 811 Hwy 35N, across from Little Bay. This is primarily an ornamental park. It is approximately 0.4 acres. This park offers a covered coastal style gazebo and sitting area, as well as a registered labyrinth and granite walkways for enjoying the abundant number of wildflowers throughout the year. Great views of Little Bay and Aransas Bay can be had. It is a beautiful spot to watch the sunrise. This cute, small park has hosted small ceremonies such as weddings and renewals. This park is available for rental.
Zachary Taylor Arboretum Park located at 702 S. Pearl Street, is situated on .46 acres within a residential neighborhood. It is ornamental arboretum park due to over 10 distinctive tree species located within the park. The trees include Anaqua, Crape-Myrtle, Desert Willow, Hackberry, Lacebark Elm, Live Oak, Southern Magnolia, Sycamore, Texas Persimmon, Bay Laurel, Wild Olive, and White Mulberry. This park offers a vintage style gazebo, a water feature, two covered table sites for hosting small group gatherings. This Park is available for rental.
Additionally, Zachary Taylor Arboretum Park is the home of a historic live oak tree estimated to be 400 to 600 years old. It is said to have provided a shaded campsite for American Army Troops commanded by General Zachary Taylor in July, 1845 prior to the beginning of the Mexican-American War in 1846. Troops of the Third Infantry included 2nd Lt. Robert E. Lee, Ulysses S. Grant, William Sherman, and Thomas J. (Stonewall) Jackson.
Mathis Park located at 801 S Live Oak is situated on 1.0 acres. It offers a full-size basketball court, one covered cabana with a grill and two swing sets. The Aransas County Community Garden is also situated within this property.
Bent Oaks Rookery Park is a 8.856-acre piece of land located across from Little Bay, bordered by Broadway, Business Highway 35, and Maple Street, was purchased by the city in January 2016 for $2.995 million using tax and revenue certificates of obligation. This park was primarily secured by the city for preservation of its iconic Live Oaks and for nesting purposes of Great Blue Heron, Great Egrets and Black Crowned Night Herons, along with others like barn owls and occasional falcons. This park offers an excellent opportunity for bird viewing and photography. A 14-space parking lot was installed about one month before Hurricane Harvey. Other than a parking lot, access to walk into the property is prohibited especially during nesting season, other than trained professionals. This park also offers great views of Little Bay.
Spencer Park located at 400 E. Bay Street is situated on 0.7 acres and is a neighborhood park containing a basketball court, a covered shelter and grill, and the Spaceball. The Spaceball is designed and manufactured in Germany by the internationally recognized Berliner Seilfabrik. The net structure offers hours of fun and adventure on several levels - climbing, rocking, hand-over-hand climbing, and swinging up, down, horizontally, and vertically. Approximately 16 nets in different geometrical shapes and sizes, inside a supporting framework, form the planets in the spatial net universe. The Spaceball was a past project of a leadership team in raising funds and assisting in beautifying this park.
Magnolia Park located at 906 N Live Oak, is a blank canvas and offers an open space and iconic Live Oak trees that Rockport is known for.
Tule Park located at 2105 Picton Lane offers practice fields for various sport activity containing two baseball backstops. This park is next to a wetland and offers birding opportunities and a view of other wildlife. There is one covered bench seating area and an excellent place to catch bait in Tule Creek.
Pride Park located on Hwy 35S and Gagon. This park in not named officially as a park. This property was previously a water tank facility site. Currently it is an ornamental park containing 3 special wind features; Kinetic DNA, Jellyfish and Trancer along with a beautiful garden.
Wetland Pond/Demo Garden (Tule East) Great Texas Birding Trail Location. This 5-acre site is located on Highway Bus 35 North, across the street from Walmart. You will notice a roadside park with shady parking. Enjoy a walk along the boardwalk. Follow the trail beside the demonstration garden to the pond in the back of the property. Viewing benches and a covered deck with seating are available.
Tule West Pavilion and Bridge located on Hwy 35N which intersects with Tule Creek. This location is an excellent opportunity for bird watching. This is a partner project with Aransas Pathways.
Shellcrete Park located next to Tule West just over the bridge. It offers a total of three birding trails along with wildlife viewing opportunities.
Water Street Hike & Bike Trail is a paved pedestrian lane paralleling Aransas Bay lined with pet stations. This is a 1 mile road which was turned into a one-way street for safety reasons.
McDonald's Park located on Fulton Beach Road and Hwy 35N, is primarily a viewing park with panoramic views of Little Bay and Aransas Bay. A parking area and a viewing scope is available.
Ivy Lane located in Peninsula Oaks Subdivision and is also a partnership project with Aransas Pathways. This location also offers excellent birding opportunities.
