Convention and Visitor Bureau

The Convention and Visitor Bureau (CVB) is governed by a Boards and supported by partners who help make Rockport/Fulton an appealing destination by offering services, attractions, and facilities to visitors, meeting planners, convention delegates, and residents.

Purpose

The City Council has determined that the establishment of the Convention and Visitors Bureau Advisory Board will enhance the economic vitality of the area by advising the City Council and City Staff on the sales and marketing of Rockport, Texas to the convention, tourism, meeting and leisure travel markets using funding generated from the Local Hotel Occupancy Tax.

Membership

The Board provided for herein shall be comprised of seven (7) members to be appointed by the City Council for terms of two (2) years consisting of some combination of representation from the following groups:

a) City Council: currently serving member of the Rockport City Council.

b) Lodging Sector: member of management from the lodging sector in the City of Rockport.

c) Tourism Sector: member of management from the tourism industry in the City of Rockport.

d) Restaurant Sector: member of management from the restaurant industry in the City of Rockport.

e) Art Sector: member of management from the meeting/convention industry in the City of Rockport

f) Historical Sector: member of management from the Arts or Historical industry in the City of Rockport.

g) Member of the Rockport/Fulton Chamber of Commerce

Ex-officio Members:  Tourism Executive Director, City Manager, EDC Executive Director, Rockport/Fulton Chamber of Commerce President, and members of the City Staff.
