Below is a list of currently offered benefits to the employees of the City of Rockport. Please note that these are subject to change, and will be updated as often as possible after changes are made.

City of Rockport Employee Benefits

Retirement: Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS)
  • Mandatory Participation - Employee contributes 7% of gross, pre-tax
  • City Match- the City matches employee contributions 2:1
  • Vesting - 5 years
  • Retirement Eligibility: Vested and 20 years (including the 5 years to vest) -OR- Vested and Age 60
Health Insurance
  • The City pays 100% of Employee premiums for Medical, Dental, & Vision.
  • Employee pays 100% of dependent premiums for Medical, Dental, & Vision through Payroll deductions.
  • Employee coverage goes into effect on the first day of the month following the date of hire.
Life Insurance
  • The City pays for a $15,000 Basic Life/$15,000 AD&D policy for all active employees
  • Voluntary Life is offered for Employees and Dependents. Employee pays 100% of Voluntary life premiums through Payroll deductions.
Other
  • City pays for Halo Flight Insurance on Employee and Dependents
  • City pays for Lyric a Teladoc service for all employees
  • The City offers Colonial Life Insurance Polices like Accident, Cancer, and Critical illness. These policies are 100% employee paid through payroll deductions, but offers the employee a lower group rate.
  • Through Mission Square Retirement the City offers a secondary opportunity for Retirements Savings through a 457/Roth IRA duel plan. This plan is entirely optional, and entirely employee driven. There is not City match.
  • The City offers Education Reimbursement.
Leave and Holidays
  • Flexible paid time-off plan which includes vacation and sick leave. Time off accrues at the rate of one day earned per month.
  • Twelve (12) paid holidays provided annually
